Lindy Hop

Andrea discovered Lindy Hop in 2015 in Genoa, after years of exploring European folk dances. Curious, kind, and always a gentleman, he brings a unique blend of enthusiasm, technical knowledge, and historical context to his classes. With a background in theatre and guitar, he started teaching in 2018 with the Your Swing school. His deep love for the dance and its culture shines through in every class, where he creates an energetic, welcoming atmosphere and inspires students to grow with confidence and humility.

Benedetta’s relationship with music began early, playing classical piano as a child and later adding drums to her repertoire. Her passion for jazz, blues, and many other musical genres naturally led her to Lindy Hop, which she discovered in 2018. After training as both follow and lead, she began teaching at Your Swing in Genoa. With a background in astrophysics and years of experience teaching maths and physics, Benedetta brings both clarity and energy to the dance floor. Her classes strike a thoughtful balance between structure, musicality, historical context, and creative freedom. Having played rugby for many years, she knows the value of teamwork  and brings that spirit into her teaching. She’s quick to spot each dancer’s unique strengths and encourages them to grow with confidence, just like any great teammate would.

Together, Andrea and Benedetta create a rich and engaging learning environment where technique meets playfulness, and history meets personal expression. Dancing with them is not just about steps... It's about community, discovery, and a lot of joy.

Else fell head over heels for authentic jazz dancing the moment she stumbled upon it while on holiday. After some detective work, she discovered a swing dance school back home in The Hague. And from her very first Lindy Hop class in 2018, she was hooked.

That spark quickly turned into a passion. Fuelled by a lifelong love of music and movement - from childhood theatre to learning instruments - and inspired by meeting the love of her life Jack, a jazz guitarist, Else dove headfirst into the world of jazz dance. When she discovered authentic solo jazz; full of rhythm, expression, and musical storytelling, she knew she had found her true language. The rich history and deep feeling of jazz music continue to be her biggest source of inspiration.

Out of this love, and after years of teaching in various schools, World of Jazz was born - a dance school with a mission: to celebrate jazz in all its forms, to offer high-quality classes in a welcoming environment, and to build a joyful, inclusive community rooted in music and self-expression, while honouring its African American tradition.

Teaching has always been at the heart of what Else does. Whether she’s guiding absolute beginners, helping dancers explore musicality and movement, or working with teens and children, she brings care, clarity, and creativity into the room, making sure everyone feels seen, supported, and inspired. Her experience spans from working in primary schools and teaching workshops for kids, to managing several restaurants and training new staff - all of which sharpened her ability to inspire with patience, structure, and warmth.
